Happy Birthday Daddy!

Saturday was Aaron's birthday and he spent the morning cuddling with his baby girl. Because of little Eva, it was Aaron's best birthday ever.

At about 1:00 in the afternoon, we dropped Eva off at Grandma and Grandpa Faulhaber's house so we could go out to lunch and a movie. The first few hours were fine but by the time we got out of the movie, we missed her so much and couldn't wait to go get her.

I love to swing

Eva does not like to be put down....unless you put her in her swing. She loves to swing! So, when mommy or daddy need to get things done around the house, Eva goes in her swing and she is as happy as can be.

My doctor appointment

I took Eva to the doctor today because for the past week (maybe more) her left eye has been really gunky/crusty and we were afraid she was getting sick or it was infected or something. Well, it turns out that she has a blocked tear duct which I guess is fairly common. So, at least it's not infected but it's still not pretty to look at.
We have to go back in two weeks to check her weight....she went from the 20th percentile to the 13th percentile. She was up to 7 lbs 9 ounces. At her last appointment, she was 7 lbs 1 ounce. So, she is at least gaining weight. But, if she goes down in the percentile any more, we may have to start supplementing with formula. I was hoping that we wouldn't have to do this (for monetary reasons) but, we will do whatever is needed to make sure she is healthy.

Music lover

Eva loves music....it calms her right down if she is fussy. She especially loves it when daddy plays guitar or piano for her.

Mmmm.....feet

Eva thought her feet tasted pretty good....of course she needed some help from daddy to get them into her mouth in the first place.

Daddy's feet aren't too bad either....not to mention his nose!

My first trip to the grocery store

Eva was so good during her first trip to the grocery store....she pretty much slept the entire time.

My first doctor's appointment

Bath Time

Eva isn't too fond of bath time yet.....hopefully that will change soon.

Future In-Laws?

Here is Eva with just one of her boyfriends, Noah (I thought we would have a few years before we had to worry about boys :-).

Family Pics

Eva has a wonderful family who love her lots and lots! She is definitely going to be one spoiled little girl.
Here she is with Grandma and Grandpa Hutchings.

And here she is with Grandma and Grandpa Faulhaber.

With her Auntie Tami and cousin Payton.

With Auntie Brenda and cousin Luke.

And with 2nd cousin (or something like that) Alisha and Kaylee.

Welcome Eva Grace!

Eva Grace Hutchings entered the world at 1:12pm on December 30th, 2007. She was 7 lbs, 3 oz and 19 inches long (definitely a keeper)! She has lots of beautiful strawberry blonde hair and is the cutest thing we have ever seen. Check out our Shutterly page http://aaronandcarrie.shutterfly.com (which is also on the column to the right) for a lot more pictures.

Carrie woke up at 2:00am on the 3oth with contractions that were about 5 minutes apart. We got to the hospital about 3:15am and Carrie was 4cm dilated. Aaron then called his parents in Phoenix to let them know they might need to hop on a plane. After walking around the halls for about a 1/2 hour, Carrie was then dilated to 5cm and the hospital checked us in. This was about 5:00am. Aaron called his parents again to let them know their grand-daughter would be here today and they got on a plane at 8:00am to make it to Boise in time for Eva to be born with about 1 1/2 hours to spare. Carrie's parents picked them up at the Boise airport at about 11:45am. So, after about 11 hours of labor (all unmedicated) Eva was born.

Right before she was born (maybe 1 1/2 hours before Carrie started pushing....and pushed for an hour), about 7 football players from the Humanitarian bowl came by to talk football and babies. It was odd but makes for a good story. So, Eva has a little beanie hat from each team (Fresno State and Georgia Tech) with their school colors. And, a guy from channel 7 interviewed Carrie (with no make-up and very little sleep - yikes!) for the evening news (we don't know if it made it on the news or not though).

Needless to say, Eva's birth was definitely the most amazing thing we have ever been a part of. We are loving being parents and can't believe how blessed we are to have this amazing little miracle in our lives.
